The app is available for all Schoology users and can be installed for:

  • Users
  • Groups
  • Courses: Course Materials Selection

Prerequisites for Installing the App

  • You must have your own instance of Schoology.
  • You must have an active product subscription.
  • Your LTI Access Key, Secret and URL(in case of using an external tool provider) which can be obtained from the Lessonbee product support.

Installing the Lessonbee App in Schoology

As School Administrator

  • Login to your Schoology instance as an administrator with access to install and configure apps.
  • Visit the App Center once logged in, or access it directly using this link: https://app.schoology.com/apps
  • Locate the product app and click on it to view the details.
  • Click on the blue Install LTI App button to begin the installation process.
  • Next, you will be asked if this should be installed for your entire organization, or just you. If you would like all of your teachers to have access to the app, select Add to Organization.
  • If you selected Add to Organization, you will be redirected to your Organization Apps section to complete the configuration.
  • Before anyone can take advantage of the product app, you must configure it by inserting your provided Key and Secret.
  • Enter both values in appropriate fields shown below and click the Save Settings button. No custom parameters are used.
  • Once configuration is complete, school instructors can install it.

As an Instructor/Teacher

If your school has already set up Lessonbee LTI app

  • Navigate to the course you want to attach the app to. Click Materials from the left side menu and click Install your apps.
  • Select the Lessonbee app from the screen and click Submit.

If you are installing the app for your own course

  • Locate the product app and click on it to view the details.
  • Click on the blue Install LTI App button to begin the installation process.
  • Next, you will be asked to select from the list of courses where you would want to install the app. Select the courses by checking them and clicking on install.

Adding the app to Course Material

  • Once done, navigate to the course you want to attach the app to. Click Materials from the left side menu.
  • Click Add Materials in the main section and then click Add File/Link/External Tool.
  • Click Add Materials in the main section and then click Add File/Link/External Tool. You will get the below screen, click on External Tool.
  • You will get the below screen. Leave Tool Provider as default shown on screen. You can put Title according to your need. Fill the details like URL, Consumer key and shared Secret provided by the Lessonbee team. Custom Parameters are to be left blank. Click Submit.
  • You will get the below screen with whatever title you submitted in the earlier step. Click on the title, (like in this screen it is Lessonbee Demo Material) and it will launch the content.
